Macron Denounces Trump’s Proposal To Deport Gazans

French President Emmanuel Macron has firmly rejected US President Donald Trump’s reported proposal to forcibly deport Gaza’s population, stressing that such an idea is both impractical and inhumane. Speaking in an interview with CNN, Macron made it clear that forcing 2 million people to leave their homes is not an acceptable solution.

“You cannot say to 2 million people, ‘okay, now guess what? You will move’,” Macron stated, emphasizing that the situation in Gaza is not merely a logistical issue but a deeply political and humanitarian crisis. He insisted that any long-term solution must prioritize the rights and dignity of the Palestinian people.

Palestinian Right to Stay in Their Homeland

Macron reiterated that the future of Gaza must be determined by its residents. He pointed out that neighbouring countries, including Jordan and Egypt, have repeatedly rejected the idea of taking in large numbers of Palestinian refugees. This, he explained, underscores the importance of ensuring Palestinians have the right to remain in their homeland rather than being forcibly relocated.

“We cannot disregard the wishes of the Palestinian people to remain where they are,” Macron asserted, calling on world leaders to respect their rights and work toward a balanced resolution that does not involve mass displacement.
